Biography / Why I Want To Join The ACMP Texas Board
A few years back mentoring an emerging leadership group, I took them through an exercise to help define their personal purpose. When we completed the exercise, the group asked to hear my purpose. I told them I wanted to be a heritage oak - one like what stands in the creek next to our neighborhood - something old, gnarly, rough looking, but had shaded the deer and spawned plenty of acorns washed down the creek to grow more oaks.That is why I am signing up again to run for ACMP Texas, San Antonio Regional Director. That purpose is to be a leader of leaders, to help others enter and grow in the profession that I have been lucky enough to discover. My interest is in relational events that help our membership on their personal growth journey, help members make lasting connections with peers who support each other with ideas, and to help our Texas Chapter continue to advance as a dynamic, maturing organization.
