Applying the Theory of Constraint to Organizational Change
The Theory of Constraints (TOC) has evolved from a manufacturing operations scheduling technique to becoming a method for continuous organizational improvement and change. Our discussion will focus on a case study example that applies to three organizational issues – leadership, organizational structure, and performance appraisals; and how Reality Tree and Evaporating Cloud techniques can be used to identify the core problems and provide a means for resolving conflicts in situations when there are shared goals, but there are differences in opinion about what needs to change.
