Pre-conference Event
The Intersection of Change and Leadership
When: Monday, June 27th @ 6:00 pm CDT
Where: Virtual Event
We live in a world of ever-increasing complexity and the traditional approach to change management has not been reconsidered. In particular, the role of a change sponsor or change leader as a person displaying a set of behaviors is outdated.
More than ever, the way a leader thinks is far more important to his or her ability to effectively lead change and produce transformational, sustainable results. Today we will look at the shifting threats, disruptive change and overwhelming access to opportunities that are contributing to the complexity crisis leaders are confronted with today. Then we will change the game of Change Management by introducing you to Vertical Development. This framework will show leaders how to sponsor change more effectively by borrowing from the latest in leadership development. Being a better sponsor of change starts with seeing yourself differently and more clearly, appreciating multiple perspectives and seeing the systems we are all a part of as a bigger whole.
The goal is to enable leaders to think differently, view the world differently, “grow-up” and mature as organizational leaders. During our time together you will locate yourself within the vertical framework and leave with an understanding of what you can do to grow vertically and have more capacity. By doing so, you will be able to elevate and improve your responses to organizational dilemmas through agile decision–making in order to improve organizational outcomes.
Vertical-ready leadership and culture equips organizations to face the complex challenges and opportunities now and in the future. It fundamentally changes the game, the focus, the strategies to implement, and ultimately the outcomes.
Speaker: Jessica Bronzert, MBA, MCC, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
As a Master Certified Coach, change management and leadership development consultant, speaker, and founder of The Sparks Group, Jessica Bronzert specializes in provocative ideas that invite you to think differently – and bigger.
Her focus on how we think instead of what we know is the focus of her talk today – a topic called vertical development. Vertical development combines leadership development with change management to increase the effectiveness of everything the organization seeks to do. This happens by developing the capacity – not just the skills – leaders need to be successful in the face of ever-increasing change and complexity.
Jessica is Founder & CEO of The Sparks Group, an executive coaching and leadership development firm focused on vertical development. Formerly Director of Change Execution at Lowe’s Home Improvement, Jessica is on the faculty at Georgetown University and the Center for Creative Leadership. She lives in Charlotte, NC with her family.
